The SRAM XX1 Eagle chain is the fundamental part to make the entire gear shift work perfectly. It features Hard Chrome technologies and Titanium Nitride treatment which serve to avoid corrosion and maintains the quick link, which however has been updated to guarantee its effectiveness also in this version. Since the distance between the chainrings is smaller, the chain narrows slightly. For this reason SRAM has changed the manufacturing method: each link is made through a progressive metal stamping technique in different stages, which guarantees high precision.
