The new version of the Maxxis Forekaster is aimed directly at modern short-travel trail bikes (100mm-130mm), aka the "downcountry" segment. Designed to be a "Goldilocks" tire, the new Forekaster (released July 2022) rolls faster than a Minion or even the Dissector , but provides more predictable cornering, climbing, and braking traction than the Aspen or at the Rekon .

EXO
EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires. This tightly woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring the tire's performance remains unaffected. Choose EXO protection for added durability for gravel, XC and light trail riding.
TUBELESS READY
Tubeless ready tires offer the cyclist numerous advantages: the ability to use lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance than a tube tyre; and less chance of flattening because there is no tube. Tubeless ready tires are marked with the letters "TR" on the sidewall.
WT - Wide Trail
The WT construction optimizes the tire tread and its volume adapting it to the most modern rims. Traditional tires are designed starting from narrower rims and risk creating an excessively square profile, compromising performance. WT tires are optimized for 35mm wide rims, and work correctly with both 30 and 35mm rims.
