Scott Solace Disc was designed to offer comfort and performance without sacrificing power transfer and road handling. To achieve all this Scott engineers worked on a two-zone construction specifically to improve comfort and power transfer - the Comfort Zone and the Power Zone. However, they didn't stop there: the Solace offers an Endurance geometry that increases comfort in the saddle even after many hours.

Ruined roads, Marathon races, long days in the saddle - all things the Solace 10 Disc was created for. The HMF carbon fiber frame was designed with two differentiated zones, Power and Comfort Zone to create a rigid and reactive bicycle that does not tire you even after long hours on the road.

This specific double-zone concept provides greater vertical absorption in the upper portion, while the lower part is more rigid to guarantee effectiveness even on the roughest surfaces. Thanks to the Oversize bottom bracket you will have a rigid and flex-free carriage. You will be sure not to lose precious Watts even on longer journeys on different surfaces.

Technologies

Tapered Headtube
Scott engineers designed the rear triangle to offer vertical absorption while maintaining excellent torsional rigidity. From the bottom bracket to the dropouts, a structure has been created that can resist without a seat post with controlled deformation. By then adding the seat post to the system, it was done in such a way as to make the seat post follow the same deformation, therefore offering a perfect synergy. The same technique was applied to the design of the fork to best balance handling and sensations, maintaining precise steering.

Tapered Seattube
The junction between the bottom bracket and seat tube has been widened to ensure high lateral rigidity and maximize power transfer.

Asymmetric Design
The Solace can be defined as the perfect balance between power transfer and comfort. To achieve this perfection, the rear triangle has an asymmetric design - the transmission which is positioned on the right side affects weight distribution differently. Instead of reinforcing the right side of the rear dropout, which is subject to greater loads, the tube section has been optimized in specific areas.

Oversized bottom bracket
The BB86 Press-Fit bottom bracket is wider than the previous BB to offer greater rigidity and maximize power transfer thanks also to stronger seat tube and cross tube connections.

SDS-Shock Damping System
Since most of the comfort of a road frame depends on the rear triangle, the SDS (Shock Damping System) was developed to obtain the best performance of this specific portion of the frame. The dropouts are designed to work together with the seat tube, with a reduced diameter to offer greater absorption and effectiveness.

Solace Geometry
The geometry of the Solace takes into account the more elevated position of Endurance cyclists. This position is less tiring on the back and neck and helps the cyclist enjoy the many hours in the saddle.

Bi-Zone Construction
The Solace can be seen as the fusion of two frame parts. While the Comfort Zone ensures comfortable pedaling thanks to the absorption of vibrations and roughness of the ground, the Power Zone instead ensures torsional rigidity and maximum performance regarding the transfer of power from the pedals to the ground. Clearly, comfort and power both need to be considered when developing a bicycle. Based on the different construction choices, the balance between the two things leads to a worsening of one or the other. This is why Scott engineers spent a lot of time developing different prototypes and gathering rider feedback. These extensive tests allowed us to find the best balance between comfort and ability to transfer power to the ground.
