The density of the fabric is expressed in threads per inch, or TPI (threads-per-inch): the higher the TPI number, the finer the single thread and the denser the weave. The higher the TPI, the more flexible the tire will be. The cotton, incredibly strong and fine, allows us to produce carcasses with the highest possible TPI number.

The advantages of cotton carcasses.
Cotton is the material traditionally used for the production of high quality tubulars. Vittoria produces all its casings internally, of each section, starting from 220 TPI natural cotton for its range of tubulars.

A fabric with thin, finely woven threads allows for a softer and more flexible carcass, which offers superior grip thanks to a greater contact surface with the asphalt. And it also improves comfort, because micro impacts are absorbed better. Finally, the speed also rises, thanks to greater lower rolling resistance.
